I was warned

So last night we took The Phi to Toys R Us. See she is part of the super exclusive Geffory Birthday Club. (okay so any kid can join, but don't tell The Phi that) We walked in and went up to customer service, The Phi handed the lady a card and the festivities began. And by festivities i mean the lady said in a very Ben Stein monotone kind of voice "oh its your birthday" then proceeded to slap a sticker in The Phi's hand, dump a paper crown on her head and hand her a balloon. Luckily for us The Phi did not pick up on this employees obvious lack of excitement for her job and instead was just stoked on her sticker, crown and balloon. Then we wandered the aisles in search of a new My Little Pony, because The Phi had also been sent a $3 gift card, and she was not afraid to use it. We found Pinkie Pie pony and PR Dad just happened to wander into the video game section. So we ended up walking out with PR Dad's birthday gift too. A playstation 2 and a couple of games. One of those games being Guitar Hero: Rock Legends. Holy crap this game rocks. I stayed up until after midnight playing and I finally had to yell at PR Dad (over a text message) well after 2 am to put down the guitar and come to bed. I think we are in for a lot of late nights and guitar hero battles. I currently have the high score for "Story of my Life" by Social D. On the easy level of course!

Peeking Out From Under My Rock

Seriously where have I been. A friend of mine

turned me on to 30 Rock. The first season is on Netflix and I can watch instantly. So little by little I have been catching up on the first season. Then I will move to NBC.com to watch the rest. I once caught a few minutes of the show, and boy have I been missing out. This show is hilarious. Like laugh out loud funny. Great one liners and just smart comedy. Is there anything else out there that I should be watching??

The $25 Pony Bear Phone is Here!!!

So The Phi is a relatively good kid all the time. We are still using her reward chart and 10 happy faces earn her a reward. Well these days she is being specific as to what she wants her reward to be. She has been into My Little Pony's. She even been watching the old school show on DVD's. So we have bought her a few ponies and of course they come with the little pamphlet of ALL the pony stuff you can buy. She carried it around and studied it for weeks and then one day announced to us that she wanted the Pony Bear Phone. Don't ask me why she calls them Pony Bears. So we struck up a deal with our little one. We told her that the next time she filled up her reward chart we would buy her the Pony Bear Phone. PR Dad even drew a pretty awesome picture of a toy phone. Well on May 4th she finally earned her phone and we headed out to Toys R Us. No Pony Bear Phone there. So we hit up a Target with no luck either. A few more stores and nothing. So as a consolation prize we bought her a new pony ($5). This satisfied her and we told her we would order her Pony Bear Phone over the computer. ($20 after shipping and tax)She stood by the computer as I placed our order. And then we waited. We waited and waited and everyday Nilo our mail dude came in without a box we were disappointed. Until yesterday. A box addressed to The Phi finally came and we ripped it open and there in all its glory was the pony bear phone. So what if we spent more that double what we would have paid for it at the store. That smile was worth it!

How "My" day turned into a party for them

W had a nice Mothers Day. We went to this really great Mexican place with PR Dad's side of the family. We all get together there for Mothers Day brunch every year. Great food, strong drinks!

Then we headed to Cousin Chars for cake and ice cream for The Phi and PR Dad.



Who the hell is Stephanie??

My (almost) 3 year old!

Her grandpa Bobo bought her a tricycle and as you can tell by the look on her face she loves it. The weather has been colder so I had to set up a "racing track" for her in the house. She goes zipping around on her bike singing "I can ride my bike with no handlebars" Can this kid get any cooler?

The Wait is Over

I am writing this on April 21st. I don't know when I will be able to publish this because I am sworn to secrecy. I have been waiting for the phone call for years now. Every time the phone rang and her name came up I was hoping it would be "thee" call. Today this afternoon it was. I saw her name on my caller ID. For a brief second I thought, "Maybe this is it?" I tried not to get my hopes up.

"Hey Sam"

"Hey Willis, do you have a minute to talk?"

I was at work, but I had a few minutes

"Sure Sam, what's going on?"

There was a pause. A pause long enough for my heart to stop beating and then she said it. The words I have been waiting to hear from her.

"I'm pregnant"


I let the words soak in and I could feel my whole body get warm and goosebumps form all over my arms. I felt total and completely happiness run through me. My Sam was pregnant!. Finally her dream come true. If there was anyone meant for motherhood, it's Sam. She has been waiting for this for so long and I am beyond happy for her.

I immediately started thinking of baby names, blanket and embroidery patterns. Of course we will have to keep it a secret for a little while. Give the baby some time to really settle in to his or her (I think his) new home. Then Sam will announce to the world! The baby will be here at Christmas time. I cannot think of a more perfect gift for Sam and her family. I am so thankful that she included me and told me. Now I can share in the excitement. To be there to hear all about the insomnia, the cravings, the heart burn. To go through this with her. To go shopping for maternity pants and baby clothes. To bounce names off each other and stare at sonogram pictures. To share my pregnancy stories and labor nightmares. To hold her hand through what is sure to be the most amazing time of her life.

Later that day as I was putting temporary Spongebob tattoos on The Phi, I as so excited that one day soon, Sam would be doing the same for her little one.

I love you so much Sam. Congratulations doesn't seem like a big enough word for this!!

Happy Mother Day

So one day is not enough to thank my Mom for everything she has done for me. For every story read out loud, for every meal, every Christmas morning, for every piece of advice, and every hug and kiss. I love you so much Mom. You are the best out there and I am very proud to be your #1 daughter.
